Jolly Old Mathematics

So I was reminiscing with Jen about Helaman Ferguson and creative math, so I had to google for fun with math for this Christmas season. I found a few lists (this is probably the best one), but here are the specific activities that looked like the most fun out of the dozens I perused:

• tons of fun little origami
• a single, awesome 3-D star origami
  
• sudoku with Christmas symbols (easy, for kids)
• a truthful cryptarithm
• snowflake fractals, which can be done with pencil and eraser, but these can be done on a computer, and backward, too! (I'll give extra credit if you find me a site that allows more exploration, eg. allowing the user to click on lines to split them.)

While I'm here, I've got to mention two cool fractal sites, even though they're not Christmas-oriented:

• This one displays many kinds of fractals based on tons of equations, and you can zoom in and out remarkably quickly just by clicking. (Can you find the baby Mandelbrots?)
• This one is a game. Great idea! And that site has many geometry games. Sweet.
